When I Think of Child Development...

“Children are one third of our population and all of our future.”

Select Panel for the Promotion of Child Health, 1981

I was drawn to this quote because as early childhood professionals it is important we keep in our minds that children are our future. It is our responsibility to help them grow to be successful, functioning members of society, whatever that may look like for each individual. It is our joy to ensure children truly experience childhood. It is our privilege to work with families and communities in the raising of our future.

  1. There is another quote by Walt Disney that goes along the same lines. "Children are our greatest natural resources." Thank you for sharing your insight during this class.

  2. Thanks for taking the time to share your ideas and personal experiences. I like the quote, it tells me that childre are our future and one day thay will be taking care of us in our older age. Later when they become older they will be making rules for our nation.

  3. Caroline,
I have enjoyed reading your blog and discussions. I appreciate the interesting information that you have shared about child development. I hope that we will be able to discuss ECE issues in future classes. Thank you for the quote this week that reminds us that children are our future and it is up to us to train them to be ready for it.

  4. Caroline,

I almost added this same quote to my blog this week. I feel that this quote speaks volumes and helps to remind us that children are our future and that cannot be changed no matter what so we should do our best to educate them so they are prepared when the future arrives. It has been nice getting to know you throughout this course. I hope we are able to "see" each other again in future classes!
